I apologize for not having a blog last week. The time just got away from me and I didn't feel the context was good enough so, I didn't post it. So, this week we are talking about Apple Cider Vinegar. There seems to be a big hype about it right now. Mostly for losing weight. I want to share the pros and cons of this amazing vinegar.
I have heard so much about this Apple Cider Vinegar that I had to dig a little deeper to see what the fuss (health benefits) were all about. In doing this research I found that not only is ACV, for short, very healthy, it is also, good to rid your garden of weeds. Use it in a spray bottle for weeds and around gardens and trees to rid of rodents. (squirrels, rabbits and raccoons.)
Now, for the health benefits of ACV. It can be used for just about any thing. It can get rid of a wart by dabbing with a q-tip soaked in ACV then cover with a band-aid. It will turn black and fall off. Gross but, at least you are rid of the wart.
Try using ACV instead of your expensive toner to wipe away skin blemishes. Use 1 part ACV and 2 part water before bed. It will banish age spots, acne, oily prone patches, blemish scars too.
You can also add it to a foot soak to expel food fungus.
It seems there isn't much that this stuff can't do. I was surprised how versatile it is.
HEALTHY MOUTH AND GUMS
You can gargle a mixture of ACV and water to heal mouth sores, cuts, chronic gum decay and infection. You could also, just swallow it and help with digestive stuff.
** Gargling or drinking ACV straight can cause damage to the lining of your esophagus as well as tooth enamel. ACV is very acidic this is what causes the damage so always dilute with water.
Dissolve a tablespoon in water to detoxify the digestive system and eliminate toxins for your organs. It also, helps relieve intestinal problems and constipation.
But, a con to this one is drinking it straight and being diabetic may not be a good idea. Some studies link ingesting undiluted ACV to gastroparesis, a condition prone to diabetics, which reduces the rate the stomach empties. The ACV increases acid production which puts stress on the body. So, again always dilute ACV.
STRENGTHEN IMMUNE SYSTEM
It will give you relieve from sinus congestion, reduce colds and alleviate allergies.
The main reason I have heard that people use this is because it helps with weight loss. Not enough studies have been made to see if this is really the case. So, before starting any thing check with your doctor. Drinking a tablespoon with a glass of water before meals some say will help fill you up and curb the hunger pains.
I my self can not get past the smell of it. I do not like vinegar of any kind. So, this one I will not be trying. But, if you are a faithful ACV user I would love to hear how it has helped you. Word of caution. If you decide to try ACV then I highly suggest speaking with your doctor first. There may be issues with medicines you take and ACV will affect that.
Also, if you don't like the taste or smell of it then don't MAKE yourself miserable doing it. Getting healthy shouldn't be painful.
Last but, not least always, always, always dilute it in water.
