Home workouts and how it worked for me.
The argument will always be. The GYM vs. HOME WORK OUTS. To each his own I say. What ever you feel comfortable with doing then like Nike says, “Just do it!!” As long as your body is in motion that is a good thing.
For me it was a no brainer. I was 40 pounds heavier and was insecure and had horrible body image issues. I was NOT, I repeat NOT going to step foot in a gym with everyone looking at me and judging me on what I was wearing. (I have since learned NO ONE CARES about you at the gym. They are doing their own thang!!!!) I didn’t have the cute workout clothes because I had never worked out before. This was a whole new world for me.
My husband bought an at home workout program from Beachbody (T-25 from Shaun T). He had also picked up some weight from our first year of marriage. So, he said we would do it together. What woman in her right mind wouldn’t jump at the chance to spend more time with her husband? EXACTLY!!
It was perfect for us. We both had full time jobs and “us time” was limited because of 3 busy teenage boys. A chance to spend alone time with him was heaven!! Even if I was sweating my ass off in a hot garage in the middle of July. The point was we were working on us TOGETHER!! We would push each other and being at home was great. We didn’t have to drive anywhere just changed clothes and went outside.
So, for my Peeps that are wanting to get fit but, have a lot of obstacles standing in your way. Consider a home work out program. Here is what it offers.
This is the number one reason why home workouts WORK!! I know for me I just changed my clothes and got down to business. I didn’t have to drive anywhere and wait for machines or get back in my car all nasty and sweaty. I just loved how I could do it at home wear my no-so-cute workout clothes and feel comfortable about working out and not worry if someone was watching me.
This was another perk. We used our own body weight to sculpt our body and we didn’t have to spend any money on special equipment or fancy weights. We just got the DVDs and worked with the body we had and by the time it was over I myself was VERY happy with my body.

We were short on time. We didn’t have the luxury of spending an hour in the gym and another 15 minutes to get home. We had hungry BOYS that needed to be feed fast. So, while we were working out in the garage for 30 minutes dinner was cooking in the oven or crock pot. I was killing two birds with one stone. That is multi-tasking at it’s finest. If you are a momma or daddy with small kids at home this is perfect because you don’t have to leave, and the kids can play right beside you or better yet join right in.
You make a one-time investment and that is it. The DVDs are yours forever. You can keep coming back to them time and time again. The program gives you a daily workout and you follow the schedule for 30 to 60 days. It is just so simple and easy to get workouts.
