This week I am going to give you a dose of tough love.
I want to see you succeed and this must be said in order of you to start thinking about a healthy life style in a different way.
I understand the frustration and the self shame that comes with weight gain. It doesn’t matter how much weight we gain, we all get aggravated about it. We just want it to be GONE!! We want our old 20 something bodies back when we THOUGHT we were fat. We want pre-baby bodies back. I get it really, I do. I have been on that same struggle bus many times in my life just like you.
But, here is what you must understand. It took you months or years to add the pounds on. Right? So, lets look at this realistically. What makes you think you are getting that weight off in a week with a pill and not exercising at ALL or changing your diet? I mean really? You worked to put it on so, now you have to work to get it off. That is the only HEALTHY way to do it. Eat right and exercise.
The first step into getting the weight off is to feel the shame, guilt, disgust, frustration, self-hatred or any other feeling you may have for yourself at this time. Are these feelings warm and fuzzy? Hell NO!! It is a mess you must go through to get to the healthy side not just the skinny side. Acknowledge these feelings. It is OK to feel all-of this yucky stuff. Feeling it is how you get over it and move on to a better you. A you, YOU will be proud of.
Now, working through these feelings are important but, you don’t want to dwell so much you get stuck in them. Give yourself time to feel them and then figure out what your next move is. Putting these feelings on the back burner is only going to delay your progress. Figure out when you have had enough of feeling this shitty way and then fight your way back. Take it day by day. Know you have the power even if you don’t think so yet.
I can hear you now “It’s hard”.
YEAH! So is being pregnant for 9 months and then having a baby but, you did it.
Working full time, raising a family and going to school full time to get the dream job you have always wanted is hard but, oh let’s see you did that too!!
Get of the hard shit. You do hard shit all the time. Grab the boot straps and yank as hard as you can and pull yourself out of this rut you have been in for way too many years.
The time for you is now! The kids are grow or almost grown (maybe they just think they are grown) What ever the situation YOU need to be at the top of your daily to-do list. If you are crabby and irritated everyone you love will be the same way or will avoid your negative attitude. Do you really want that?
Are you tired of being crabby and unhappy and irritated all the time?
Are you crabby when you get a fresh hair cut? Are you crabby when you get your nails done? UUUHHHHH NO!! Why? Because it is something you want to do for yourself. It is helping you feel better because you can vomit all over your hair dresser or nail tech and you get all that shit that has been building up off your chest. Instead of letting it build up why not take care of it daily by working out. That is the number one stress reliever. (well, besides one other but, that is another blog)
Take control of your life. DISCOVER HOW BADASS you really are. I promise it is inside you. So, let it out.
