This past weekend was my birthday. Some dread getting older, some don't really care and then there are people like me.... I LOVE my birthday!!!
I believe it has to do with the time of year it is. The beautiful colors of fall are starting to show and it is starting to get cooler and just a fun time of year. It was a time for me to reflect on the last 47 years and see where I am at.
Once the major fun milestones (13,16,18,21) are meet, most birthday's start to run together.
Consider making one more milestone at whatever age you are. Make the decision to be healthier. What would being healthier look like for you?
Walking the block with your kids without having to stop every few feet to catch your breath?
Taking that flight to paradise you have dreamed about but, haven't because you are scared you won't fit in the seat.
Getting old and not being on 20 different pills for all that is ailing you.
Aren't you tired of living like this? When will you be? When will the day come that you will want to better your health? Why wait until it's to late and you can't come back from whatever it is. Diabetes, heart failure, complications with a simple out-patient surgery.
I know I am tired of living like this. I know how you feel. I know where you are coming from. How you ask? Because I have gained 40 pounds by being comfortable and then I had lost it. I had surgery last summer. I gained about 30 pounds back. Just like that. I couldn't workout so, I just quit all together. Yes, I have ran some races but, running doesn't always take the weight off if you are not doing it consistently or eating healthy. I started to body shame myself. I was depressed and couldn't get out of it. I felt like a fraud and a fake. Here I was preaching to you about getting healthy and working out as I was drinking a Pepsi and stuffing my face with junk writing my posts for Facebook. My business started to suffer because I wasn't being accountable to myself so, how in the hell was I going to be accountable for you? I was a hot mess but, the good news is I am coming out of it. I have injured my shoulder but, it will be better soon. I have started to eat healthier and workouts will start as soon as I am cleared from the Dr. (Hopefully in the next few weeks)
I am not perfect and neither are you. I have made mistakes and I have fallen off the wagon. The thing about is.... you can always get back on.
I will give you the tools to do that. Even if you do fall off you will know what to do to get back on. I will show you by example. You will see eating healthy and working out really does change you from the inside as well as the outside.
Getting healthy isn't always easy. Sometimes you have no idea how to even start. At times you need accountability or just a helping hand that will pick you up when you have fallen.
Even I need that at times. We can do this together!! We will work along side one another and support each other to be the best versions of ourselves.
Remember you didn't gain the weight over night so your not going to lose it overnight either.
The foods you need can be bought at your own grocery store. No pills. No quick fix. No bullshit. Just clean eating and exercise.
The recipes will be flavor full and easy to fix. Some as easy as putting it in a crock pot all day.
I am not going to lie and tell you it is easy because it isn't. But, I will promise you a better life for you and your family.
