The season is upon us..... the stress, the over eating, spending money, trying to be extra nice to people you really don't like. Yep, Happy Holiday's.
On top of all that you also, feel the need to maintain your currant weight (give or take 5 to 7 pounds). UUUGGGHHHH!!! It all can get to be so overwhelming and you start to lose sight of how wonderful this time of year can be.
First, eat what you want BUT, do it in MODERATION. Yes, take a small spoonful of your favorites and leave the rest. Do not deprive yourself of the "not so healthy food" because before this season is over you will break and overeat at some point. Feeling totally defeated and guilty afterward.
If you are not hungry DO NOT EAT. Just because someone brings desserts doesn't mean you have to eat it. If you are not hungry then don't eat. It sounds so simple and we always feel obligated to "try" others dishes. Enjoy the time with that person but, don't make yourself sick just to make them feel good. If nothing else take a small piece home with you and eat it later.
At a social gathering a good word of advice. Do not stand by the food table. You are more likely to "graze" only adding to your guilty by the end of the night. Who needs that? So, stand on the other side of the room and enjoy the conversation there. Guilt free night. WIN!!
Take time for yourself. Yep, I preach this all the time. Make it about you too not just everyone else. Do the workouts even when you don't want too. You will feel better.
This is how you make it through the season. It is a balance. Don't over think it just live in the moment and enjoy the company you keep this season. Don't go crazy it won't be worth it.
