I have tried to avoid the ongoing count of lives that were lost Sunday night. It is sad and hard to wrap my head around it. This country has been through so much in the last few months. Devastation that has touched so many lives. I sit here feeling the nudge to write this blog. I am not sure where this is going to go but, I am trusting the Universe to give me the words that needs to be said.
First and fore most my heart goes out to all effected by this tragedy and the natural disasters in recent months.
We all know more love needs to come into the world. The real question is What are you willing to do to make that happen? It starts with us. It starts with you. It starts with me. We are the only ones, all of us that can turn this around. It can happen but, first we must be aware of our own lives. Are you creating a solution or are you part of the problem? Are you teaching love and compassion in your home? Most importantly are you SHOWING the love?
We will always have tough times just like we will always have good times. It is how we react to the situation at hand that will truly set us free. We can’t bury our heads in the sand and hope all of this will go away. It doesn’t work like that. We have to take action in order of this world to get better.
It isn’t good or bad people it is people living in fear and thinking and believing the story they are telling themselves. I have no idea what story this guy was telling himself to open fire on all these people. I do believe he was hurting. His fear was big. Bigger then himself. The separation he felt must have been overwhelming to do such a thing. We were not programed to kill each other that is why we have a conscious.
A few things to think about to take care of yourself through these tough times. These are some of the things I do to keep myself from going down a dark rabbit hole with this situation. Maybe they will help you too.
LIMIT TELEVISION AND SOCIAL MEDIA
When witnessing it all day on both the television and social media so much anger and sadness comes up and continues to wear on my mind. I am not saying NOT to be informed. I am just saying be “unplugged” more often and don’t look for an update every 15 minutes. We all know Social Media is a breeding ground for negative talk and information. So stay disconnected more often than usual.
KEEP THE POSITIVE VIBES COMING
I am not saying you have to be over the top happy and totally ignore everything that is going on but, I am just saying try to stay positive and honestly think about how grateful you are to have the people in your life. Let them know how you feel and tell them you love and appreciate them each day and not just on days that negative is reigning on Social Media.
SELF CARE IS IMPORTANT
Self care is always important but, on hard days I try to do something extra special for myself. I take a bath instead of a shower. I give myself a facial, paint my nails, have a cup of hot tea. I always meditate but, maybe I will do another one at night just to help me sleep and easy my mind. Check YouTube type in mediations and play one that you are drawn too. I always like BoHo Beautiful.
Being grateful is one of the best things you can do for yourself. When you start to get in your head with worrying it is hard to think of anything else. So, this is when I start to count my blessings. I think of all the wonderful people in my life that I love dearly. I remember the good times and how much fun and happiness was in the air. Just be grateful for all you have in your life.
I hope these tips will help ease your troubled mind. We will come out on the other side better and stronger. I am not sure how but, I believe we will. We are stronger together.
Be kind and show more love towards others. Even if they aren’t showing you the same your kind words or simple smile may be all it takes to turn their day around. Think about when others do it for you.
Peace to all each and every day
